We will be taking our 5 year old daughter for her first trip to the Magic Kingdom for only one day during our trip to Florida this summer. She loves everything about Disney princesses. What should we focus on during this important first visit?

Congratulations on your daughter's upcoming FIRST Magic Kingdom visit!!

This is certainly an important milestone for her. Walking down Main Street U.S.A. to view Cinderella's Castle is sure to be a magical experience for her.

On your way into the park, I would pick up a Times Guide to find out the locations and times that princesses will be available to greet guests. I would work your day around meeting the Disney royalty.

If possible, I would suggest a meal at Cinderella's Royal Table where Cinderella greets guests in the castle lobby and princesses circulate the tables while you dine.

Head straight to Fantasyland and explore the attractions there first!

I would read over information about each attraction and decide as a family which are your Must See rides. Watching the afternoon and/or evening parade is another great time to see princesses.

Since you'll only be in the Magic Kingdom for one day, it's important to visit your Must See attractions first. Summer time is busy in the Magic Kingdom so be sure to stay hydrated. Dine early to stay ahead of the crowds.

Depending on your family's tolerance for rides in the dark, thrill rides, etc., I would recommend the following:
    Peter Pan
    Winnie the Pooh
    Dumbo
Cinderella's Carousel (the horse with the gold tail is Cinderella's)
    Buzz Lightyear
    Space Mountain
    It's A Small World
    Haunted Mansion
    Pirates of the Caribbean
    Big Thunder Mountain
    Splash Mountain
    Jungle Boat
    Magic Carpets

Of course, if anyone doesn't like roller coasters then feel free to skip the mountains!

I would concentrate on the rides that would most interest your daughter and intersperse them with visiting princesses, watching a parade and seeing the Wishes fireworks display!
