Hi! We are taking our 1 1/2 year old daughter to Disney World at the end of May. Is there any advise you would have for a first time mom traveling with a toddler, ie: what to pack, rides, attractions, ect. Thank you in advance.

    Hi Amanda!

Thanks stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel! We brought our son to Walt Disney World Resort for his first visit at 18 months old and we had a fantastic time! You will be able to enjoy attractions with your little princess that have no minimum height requirement. Check out this Disney Parks Blog post that lists the height requirements for the attractions at Walt Disney World Resort. Magic Kingdom is great for families with little ones with favorites like Under the Sea ~ Journey of The Little Mermaid and Dumbo the Flying Elephant. My son really enjoys seeing all of his favorite Disney Junior friends at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Disney Junior - Live on Stage!

My strategy when packing for my little ones for our Disney trip is to bring plenty of options. Weather in Florida can be unpredictable, so layering is key. Be sure to bring light weight clothes for the heat of the day as well as sweatshirts and jackets for the morning and evening. We like to bring a comfortable stroller with us for navigating the parks as well as a larger diaper bag or tote bag that can fit in the stroller basket or hang from the handle. Every day, we bring with us to the parks extra clothes, snacks, ziplock bags for messes and a comfort item like a favorite toy or blanket. I also like to bring a warm stroller blanket so my kids can nap right in their stroller in the afternoon and evening, allowing us more time in the parks. And don’t forget sunscreen and sunglasses!

Be sure to take advantage of the Baby Care Centers. They are great places to take care of your daughter’s needs, get out of the Florida heat, and take a little rest from the hustle and bustle of the parks!

    T-T-F-N, ta ta for now!
