Sandra from Panama Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

We are taking our 2 year old to celebrate her birthday at Magic Kingdom. She really loves Minnie, so we would like to know recommended activities. If we celebrate her birthday at a restaurant, would she be charged considering that day she turns 3 that day?

Hello there, Sandra! Welcome to planDisney, and thank you so much for bringing such a sweet question our way. I can already tell how special this visit will be! Celebrating your daughter’s birthday at Magic Kingdom Park sounds like the perfect way to honor her big day.

One of the best places to meet Minnie in Magic Kingdom is at Pete’s Silly Sideshow in Storybook Circus. This is a delightful character greeting location where Minnie greets Guests in her adorable circus outfit, and it’s a wonderful chance for your daughter to have some one-on-one time with her favorite character. If she’s a parade lover, you’ll also want to make time to watch the Festival of Fantasy Parade, where Minnie joins Mickey and friends in a colorful celebration down Main Street, U.S.A. And since you’ll be there during the evening, the brand-new Disney Starlight Parade is another fantastic opportunity to see Minnie sparkling under the lights. Between these experiences, she’ll be surrounded by Minnie magic throughout her birthday!

As for dining, you asked a great question. Disney’s ticketing and dining policies are very clear. Children are considered ages 3 to 9, and adult pricing applies to Guests 10 and older. Since your daughter will be turning 3 on the day of your visit, she will be charged as a child for any dining experiences that day. While it may feel a little bittersweet to move into that new category, it also opens the door to a whole new level of fun. She’ll now be able to have her own spot at the table and enjoy her meal like the big kids do!

Sandra, I hope this helps you plan a birthday full of Minnie moments, sweet surprises, and lots of smiles. If you’d like more tips on how to make birthdays extra magical at Walt Disney World, I’d be so happy to share more ideas. Don’t forget to pick up a complimentary birthday button at Guest Relations when you arrive. You never know what kind of pixie-dusted birthday wishes might come your daughter’s way!

    Warm hugs,

    Ana Paula
