we are taking a 6 year old boy to disney and wanted to know which parks are good for his age?

    Hi Sandi!

I have a 7 year old son and he has gone to Walt Disney World at least once every year.  He has always enjoyed visiting all of the parks, though his favorite is the Magic Kingdom.  His next favorite is Typhoon Lagoon, but he loves being in the water!  He loves the water play area there and the lazy river; he could spend several hours in the lazy river!

After those, his next favorite is Epcot.  However, he really only enjoys the Future World part of that park.  He's usually bored when we visit the countries in the World Showcase section of Epcot.  He loves Soarin' and the Seas with Nemo and Friends.

He prefers Disney's Hollywood Studios over Disney's Animal Kingdom.  He especially loves Toy Story Mania and Star Tours.  However, he is a huge Star Wars fan.  In Disney's Animal Kingdom, he loves the Safari, Dinosaur, and the two stage shows.

However, all of this said, he has always enjoyed his time in all of the theme parks and has never complained, even when visiting World Showcase!  Thus, I would plan what would be best for your entire party and not just what you think your 6 year old would like.  That said, you might consider spending more time in the Magic Kingdom than anywhere else.  It's usually the favorite park of young guests.  For the record, It's also my personal favorite!

Enjoy planning and write back if you have any more questions!
