    Eric from AZ Asked

I am taking my wife to Disneyland for her 40th birthday and she really wants to experience the Blue Bayou restaurant for dinner on 12/6. I have everything else booked for our 4 day stay, but am very worried about getting dinner reservations. Please help.

Hello Eric and welcome to planDisney!

It’s so nice to hear from a fellow Arizonan, isn’t it fantastic that we are so close to The Happiest Place on Earth? I can never get enough!

Please wish your wife a very happy birthday from all of us at planDisney. Celebrating a birthday at one of the Disney Parks is my most favorite way to celebrate! I’ve spent the last few birthdays at both Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort. I wouldn’t want to celebrate anywhere else!

As you may already know, you can schedule your dining reservations 60 days in advance. Eric, your reservation window is quickly approaching. I recommend waking up fairly early to try and secure a reservation. If you are unsuccessful at first, don’t give up! I’ve had reservations planned for 60 days and some booked last minute, so don’t worry too much just yet. If you aren’t successful with your first attempt, I do recommend checking the mobile app frequently and at random times of the day for a reservation. You never know, you might just get lucky and pick up someone else’s cancellation.

If all else fails, you still have the opportunity to try for the Mobile Dine Walk-up option once you arrive, subject to availability. You will be able to check the availability at participating restaurants via the app or by scanning the QR code located near the restaurant entrance.

Eric, I hope this helps prepare you for your visit and much-anticipated dining reservation. Remember, with Faith, Trust, and a little bit of Pixie Dust you can fly!
