We are taking a whirlwind first trip to WDW in late September. We will have two full days and one half day in the parks. For the half day, would it be better spent at the MK (where we will also be spending a whole day) or should we attempt to visit AK?

    David:

I would opt to use that half day to enjoy the Magic Kingdom fully. Because this is your first trip, there is much to see and do at the Magic Kingdom. Allowing yourself an extra half day will give you the opportunity to either visit almost all of the attractions or re-visit a few favorites.

Even though many folks say that Animal Kingdom is a "half-day park," in my opinion it isn't for a first-time visitor. Catching Lion King, Nemo the Musical and Flights of Wonder will take up half a day just for the three. Giving the Magic Kingdom a day and a half will allow you to not only enjoy the major rides like Space Mountain but allow time in the schedule to catch the Dapper Dan's on Main Street, enjoy a Mickey bar as you people watch or head over to Tom Sawyer's Island.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
