Hello. We're taking our two girls (3 and 6) to Disney for the first time. We plan on one or two days at Magic Kingdom. Is there any type of route planner to help plan our day?

    Hey Mickey!

Yes, there are many schools of thought on how to tour Magic Kingdom, but my favorite resource for planning is the unofficial site touringplans.com. Check out their many itineraries for parents with small children and soon you'll feel like you can tackle the Parks with expert advice!

I always try to arrive at "rope drop" in the early morning and head directly back to Fantasyland. If you wait a few hours, you'd be surprised how long of a wait Peter Pan's Flight will be by lunch time.

Also be sure to download the My Disney Experience app on your smartphone. Doing so will allow you to see live wait times and show times for attractions and entertainment throughout the Park. Having the wait time in the palm of your hand will eliminate the need to criss-cross the Park in search of the shortest line.

Another trick is to tackle the most popular rides like Splash Mountain during the Celebrate a Dream Come True Parade or nighttime entertainment. If you plan to visit Magic Kingdom over 2 days, allow 1 day to catch the entertainment and the other to hit your favorites while many guests are viewing the shows.

Thanks for writing, Mickey, and visit us again with other planning questions!
