Taking our two daughters (ages 6 and 10) to Disney for the first time. We are thinking of staying at the Polynesian or Wilderness Lodge. Which do you prefer? I like the idea of the monorail, but the Poly did NOT get good reviews on Trip Advisor.

Hello Jennifer and welcome to the Disney Parks Mom´s Panel.

Your daughters will be able to experience most of Walt Disney World attractions, shows and events during their first visit.  It is helpful to start getting familiar with the attractions, shows and events before getting to Disney, so to have an idea of what to experience first.

Staying at a Disney Deluxe resort will surely add more magic to your family´s vacation.  Both the Polynesian Resort and Wilderness Lodge are Disney Deluxe resort hotels, with great pools and similar features and amenities.  Still, each Walt Disney World resort adds a unique feel and a particular experience.

Disney´s Wilderness Lodge luxurious - deep woods feel, allows guest to completely change scenery and pace.  This resort features Artist Point, a Signature restaurant with great attention to detail.  Guest can also travel by boat to the Magic Kingdom.  At Disney´s Wilderness Lodge you can also stay at a Disney Villa,

Disney´s Polynesian Resort theme immerses guest as soon as we arrive at the entrance.  This resort may not feature a Signature restaurant, but it does offer great dining experiences.  Guest can experience fun and savory character breakfast at ´Ohana, or the enchanting Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show.
Still, what my family loves the most of this resort are the transportation services it offers - to Magic Kingdom by boat or Monorail - to Epcot by Monorail - and to all the restaurants located at Magic Kingdom, Epcot and Disney resorts on the Monorail system.

For my family the Polynesian is one of the two more convenient resorts at Walt Disney World.  We also love Disney´s Contemporary Resort because of its 10 to 15 minute walk to the Magic Kingdom.

Happy to help you plan a magical Disney vacation.
Hope to hear more from you.
