We are taking a trip to WDW and we are debating between staying at Wild. Lodge (because it is so close to Magic Kindom) and Port Orleans Riverside. How close is PO Riverside to WL? How long does it take to get to MK? How do they compare to eachother?

The two resorts are relatively close to one another, Sara, but not within walking distance or anything like that.  Driving time between the two is about fifteen minutes.  Travel time to Magic Kingdom from Port Orleans Riverside via Disney bus is about twenty minutes.

In comparing the two resorts, there are some definite similarities.  Both offer a woodsy feel with cozy charm.  As one of Disney's deluxe resorts, Wilderness Lodge does indeed afford guests more amenities than Port Orleans Riverside.  For example, there are two table service restaurants, including a Signature restaurant.  And, of course, standard rooms at the Wilderness Lodge are slightly more spacious.  Wilderness Lodge also offers direct boat service to Magic Kingdom.  Guests of the Wilderness Lodge are also treated to an impressive lobby.

Port Orleans Riverside, too, has a really down-home feel to it.  Guests can walk the gorgeous grounds and admire beautiful foliage.  The food court at Riverside is more extensive than the counter service option at Wilderness Lodge, though the table service restaurant is less inspired.  One of my favorite resorts is Riverside, so I can tell you from experience that it's lovely.  I think it really comes down to whether or not the perks of a Wilderness Lodge stay fit comfortably in your budget.  Good luck with your decision.  Either resort would make a great choice!
