I will be taking my three kids to Animal Kingdom. Two of us want to ride expedition Everest but my son is too small. Is there a child swap option or something similar available?

Hello Tammy! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

Just last week my family strolled up to Soarin' in Epcot with our scheduled FastPass+ reservations and scanned our MagicBands. Then the Cast Member asked my youngest to stand against the height requirement board (you must be 40" or taller to ride Soarin') and were informed that my son was not tall enough to ride the attraction.

We were disappointed, but took advantage of the Rider Switch Service offered for many attractions at Walt Disney World Resort Theme Parks. With Rider Switch Service, a first party gets in their respective queue (FastPass+ if scheduled, Standby if not) while the second party waits in a designated area with those who cannot or do not want to ride the attraction with a ride switch pass in hand.

After the first party has enjoyed the attraction, the second party waits with those who cannot or do not want to ride the attraction, while the second party enters (with 1 repeat Guest to reride) the FastPass+ queue for their experience.

When this happened at Soarin, my wife took my daughter on the attraction while I sat with my young son in the waiting area and watched the Living with the Land boats. When they returned, I took my daughter back onto Soarin' for her second time.

For Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain, I recommend the waiting party visit Maharajah Jungle Trek(if permitted) to view the tigers and komodo dragons while the other party enjoys the ride.
