I have used the Disney gift card on various occasions and for different activities. I have specifically used it at Rainforest Cafe outside of Disney's Animal Kingdom for a to go order. My wife and son left the park early and ordered a dinner to go for a specific time that my daughter and I would be leaving the park. when we exited, the food was ready and we paid with the gift card. The whole transaction was very easy. I would say 95% of the activities or merchants inside Walt Disney World will take the card. You may want to contact the business which you are thinking about dining at to see but all of the "Disney" restaurants take the card.
