We are taking our Son,DIL and 2 grandkids ages 7 and 5 in 2019. Will a family suite at AOA fit all of us comfortably. Otherwise thinking of getting a family suite for them in Nemo and standard room for us in Little Mermaid. How far of a walk between the two

    Hi Julie,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for your question. Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is overflowing with Disney magic; even the most gorgeous photos don’t capture the bright colors and larger-than-life characters that surround you everywhere at the resort! As you wander around, you really feel like a character in one of your favorite Disney or Pixar movies.

The Family Suites at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort sleep six Guests. The rooms are very smartly laid out; I actually gasped when I saw how easily the kitchen table converts to a bed, and how comfortable that bed actually is! Your sleeping arrangements are one queen-sized bed, a double TableBed, and a double sleeper sofa; they are each in their own sections of the suite, but only the “master” bedroom has a door. There are two bathrooms in the Family Suites, which is really helpful for a larger party.

In deciding whether you should all stay in a suite, I would consider everyone’s needs or expectations for privacy as well as how much time you plan to all be together in the suite. We visit Walt Disney World often with my parents, and we love having breakfast together in the room and those sweet quiet moments, like a shared nap, coloring together, or stories before bed. The Family Suites really allow for this together time.

Julie, if you decide to book a Finding Nemo suite for your son’s family and stay in a The Little Mermaid standard room yourself, the walk is about 10 minutes, depending on which buildings you’re in and your pace. It's a very nice walk though, as you’ll stroll through The Lion King Courtyard on your way between the two areas, and it’s lovely, shady, and includes a fun play area.

Wishing you a magical time together!
