We are taking our son who will be one Jan. 10-16, 2016. Two questions- what are you recommendations about making dining reservations? I read on here one per day? Then the second question, what is weather/crowds like at this time of year? Thank you!

    Hi Emily,

Congratulations on your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation!  You are going to make some great memories with your little guy.  I have also been visiting Walt Disney World since my children were babies and looking back at our first visit photos always bring back such precious memories.

January is a great time to visit Walt Disney World and I think the dates you have picked are great.  Typically the weather is mild with the average high temperature being 72º F and the average low 48º F.  When packing you should make sure you bring light jackets and layers of clothes for nights and rain ponchos for the occasional rain shower.  In January with the holidays over with, the crowd levels are also moderate.  On January 10th you will find the Walt Disney World Marathon occurring which begins and ends in Epcot.  Therefore my advice is to visit one of the other 3 theme parks that day unless you want to watch the marathon runners.  The rest of your week should have relatively low crowds until the following weekend when there is usually an increase of Guests coming in to visit the Walt Disney World Resort during Martin Luther King weekend.

Thank you for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel Emily!  Here is a link for Planning for Pre-School Kids and Little Ones to help you with your vacation planning.  As always, if you have any further questions please just let us know.  We are always happy to help!

    Blessings,
