I am taking my son to Disney World for his 5th Birthday in February. I wanted to do a character dinner for his birthday night but i'm not sure which one to do. He loves the castle but is that all princesses? Any suggestions?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel Megan ~

I can't think of a better place to celebrate a 5th birthday than Disney World! Be sure to pick up a "Happy Birthday" button for him at any Guest Relations location.

Cinderella Castle is full of Princesses but every Princess needs a little Prince Charming and my boys loved dining at Cinderella's Royal Table. They gave each of my boys a sword as we entered to dine. They thought it was great overlooking Fantasyland as we ate dinner.

If you think he'd rather try something else, Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary Resort is always one of our favorites. This is a great place to meet Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Pluto and Goofy. Celebrating a 5th birthday with the Fab 5 would be fantastic! Following dinner, you may want to set out on the Pirates and Pals Fireworks Voyage which sails from the Contemporary Resort. We always have tons of fun.

I know you're looking for a character dinner, but if you want to start your son's birthday morning off with something special, my boys love Best Friends Breakfast featuring Lilo and Stitch at 'Ohana. You also get to meet Mickey and Pluto.

Advanced Dining Reservations can be made beginning 180 days prior to your trip and I'd suggest you go ahead and do that as soon as you can. Be sure you tell them you're celebrating his birthday.

Here are some other ideas for celebrating a little guy's 5th birthday at Disney World.

Wishing your son minnie magical birthday memories :-) Allison V.
