    We are taking our son to Disney for the 1st time Feb12-17 &were wondering if there were any special things they would do upon our arrival to the hotel like write a personalized note to him &leave a Mickey on his bed? What character dining is a must

    Hi Kelly, welcome to the Disney Parks Mom's Panel!

    Disney Floral & Gifts features several in-room celebrations to welcome your son on his first Walt Disney World vacation.  With this service you can customize your own arrival celebration.

    Disney Character Dining is a big part of my family's Disney vacations.  Each restaurant features its own characters and culinary experience.  Reservations are highly recommended and can be made 180 days in advance.

    My top character dining recommendations are Akershus Royal Banquet Hall, The Crystal Palace and 'Ohana.  Tusker House Restaurant is a personal favorite that offers a different dining experience (African spices), as well as a regular American meal.
    I really enjoy having breakfast inside the parks before opening time.

    If your son is 3 years or older, I recommend making a reservation at The Pirates League - a great experience to enjoy and share as a family .
