Hi Sloane! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
Turning 5 at the Walt Disney World Resort sounds like a very magical time! I know that my 5 year old son loves spending as much time as he can at Disney, as a matter of fact he can’t get enough! When I think of my son’s favorite places to dine, a character meal comes to mind! He loves to get his autograph book signed and he loves giving his favorite pals hugs.
Chef Mickey’s at Disney’s Contemporary Resort is his number one pick. The meal is buffet style and the kids section and dessert section make this any kids dream. Goofy, Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and Pluto are often seen here and they have always given our kids special attention. My son also likes that he gets to swing his napkin in the air from time to time. This restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
My son’s second choice is T-Rex at Disney Springs. This is a dinosaur themed dining experience, however there are not characters on hand. The atmosphere is really cool in here with different themed rooms. Every 15 minutes there is a meteor shower and there are life size dinosaurs in this restaurant that move. We found the food here to be really delicious and my son was in awe the whole time!
One last experience that I would highly recommend is the
Pirates and Pals Fireworks Voyage. Set sail on an unforgettable voyage complete with snacks, storytelling, a beautiful view of the Wishes nighttime spectacular, and even a visit from Captain Hook and Mr. Smee.
Advance dining reservations are highly recommended. Reservations can be made starting 180 days before your arrival. Be sure to let the Cast Member know that you are celebrating a birthday!
I hope that you have the most wonderful time! Happy birthday to your sweet boy!
