We will be taking a 7 night Mexican Riviera cruise on the Disney Wonder in October. We plan on flying home from LAX. How long can I expect it to take to get off the ship, gather our luggage, and get to the airport?

    Hi, Sarah!

Congratulations on your fall cruise aboard the Disney Wonder -- she is the first Disney ship on which I sailed, and I'm glad that she has found a welcoming new home on the west coast.

On the 7-night Mexican Riviera cruises, the itinerary approximates that guests are ashore by 9:30 a.m. on Disembarkation Day. You'll want to complete all necessary paperwork for US customs and online check in with your airline on the last evening of your cruise. Once you arrive to the Port of Los Angeles, you'll disembark, collect your luggage and proceed through US Customs -- which may take about an hour. Then, LAX is approximately 20 miles from the port. You'll need to plan on ample time since traffic is unpredictable in that area.

Because there are so many variables, I am unable to give you an exact amount of time from when you disembark until you arrive at the airport. Yet, I would at least plan on a couple of hours. I hope that helps.

Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
