Hi! We are taking a 5 night Caribbean cruise. How do we know if we have a pirate night and what night it is? Also, do bingo and trivia games have a cost, and is there always room to participate? Thank you!

Yo-ho, yo-ho, it's a pirate's life for... YOU! Stephanie, thanks for dropping by planDisney with your question. On behalf of all of us scallywags, we're happy to see you here, planning a cruise for May.

Stephanie, my family and I also have a 5-night cruise on our horizon, so I appreciate this question. I'm happy to report that in the spirit of Jack Sparrow, 5-night Caribbean sailings do include a Pirate Night and you will be able to see when Pirate Night is scheduled on your Disney Cruise Line Navigator App once you're on the ship. This app is your "one stop shop" for all information about your dining rotation, character greetings and special themed activities (like Pirate Night)! You'll also find information about games like trivia and bingo.

Speaking of games, you'll find that some onboard activities (like bingo) are not included in your cruise price, but available for an added fee while others are complimentary. On my last sailing, we played a few variations of trivia: all with no additional cost. On the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App you will see which activities have an additional cost associated with them.

When we played bingo, there were a few different options (with different price points) to purchase cards. I will share that bingo seemed to be popular, so I recommend showing up at least 30 minutes before the start time to grab a seat and purchase cards. It's possible that bingo could sell out, so make sure to double check the time and set a reminder alarm.

Stephanie, if you haven't done so already, make sure to pre-book any character greetings that require a ticket. For example, the Princess Gathering requires a ticket and can be booked in advance of your sail date by logging into your account and clicking on My Cruise Activities.

I hope this information is helpful as you anxiously count down your days until you're aboard the Black Pearl... Oops! Er- I mean, Disney Cruise Line! If you have any other questions, we would be happy to help, so raise the mast and come on back to planDisney.

    Wishing you smooth sailings!
