Hello, I am taking my 10yo niece for her first visit. We are staying at Pop going to MK & HS but I would like to take her on the monorail on our off day. What is the best way to do that from Pop? Thanks for your help! °O°

Hi, JoAnne! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

Various Walt Disney World Resort Transportation options are not currently operating as a means to help keep Guests and Cast Members healthy and safe. As of the time of this question, the Monorail line is currently not running. There is no date set as to when we will once again be able to experience this unique mode of transportation. However, stay tuned to the Disney Parks Blog and the Walt Disney World website for any updates regarding transportation and other news for your upcoming visit.

If the monorail does happen to be up and running during your vacation, the best way to catch a ride is to take a Disney transportation bus to Magic Kingdom Theme Park. Instead of proceeding into the Theme Park, to the left of the theme park entrance, you will see signs for the monorail station. Follow the signs that say “Monorail Resort Loop.” The monorail will operate in a full circle with stops at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, and Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort before returning back at Magic Kingdom park. Feel free to get off at any one of these stops to explore and shop!

I am so excited to hear you are staying at Disney’s Pop Century Resort, one of my favorite Walt Disney World Resort hotels! If you aren’t able to ride the monorail, you could alternately ride the Disney Skyliner on your off day. There is a station right at your hotel!  I love riding both during the day and at night. The experiences are both so different. There are several Walt Disney World Resort hotels for you to visit with this option also! Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and Disney’s Riviera Resort are right on the line, and if you ride it to the Epcot stop, you can also walk over to Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, and Disney’s Beach Club Resort. Also, taking the Disney Skyliner is the best way for you to travel to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

    Have a magical day, JoAnne!

Hi, I’m Rachel! I am a “boy mom” to two rowdy little men at home and married to my high school sweetheart. I am fortunate enough that my prince charming loves all things Disney just as much as I do! For me, planning a trip to Walt Disney World can be just as magical as being there. It brings our family together as we dream, plan, and count down the days. I would be honored to help plan your visit and share in your family’s very own magic! Learn More About Rachel
