We are taking my niece to Disney World for her 21st birthday. We're thinking of booking the pirates and pals fireworks cruise but not sure if this is a good idea. We have no small children going, but my 29-year old son is a huge POTC fan. Should we go?

    Hi there, Sylvia!

Disney's Pirates and Pals Fireworks Voyage
is absolutely one of my favorite experiences at Walt Disney World. Not only are the pre-voyage snacks delicious, but the entertainment starts early and just doesn't stop all night.

You're sure to be entertained by "Patch," your pirate host, who will sing and crack jokes, lead your bat in trivia contests, and ensure that every passenger is having a blast.

Ad Wishes from the Seven Seas Lagoon is truly magical. The music is piped into your vessel, so you won't miss a note.

Did I mention the meet and greets? You'll be personally welcomed aboard by Captain Hook and his first mate Smee. And when you return to port, another very special guest will be waiting to wish you goodnight.

While there are often Pirates of the Caribbean questions during the trivia contest (which is largely geared for children to win "pirate treasure"), there's not much of a POTC presence on the voyage.

But do not let that deter you. The fireworks alone are breathtaking enough to make up for the absence of Captain Sparrow, and the night becomes a beautiful memory of a time spent together as a family.

Oh - and your niece is sure to be celebrated on board. Make sure you let Patch know that it's her birthday, and have her wear her birthday button.

    Happy sailing!

    See you later, celebrator,
    -Deborah B.
