We are taking Nana with us on our next trip. Her first! My teens want to take her to a character meal and also get her pic with characters in the parks. Do adults wait in line with little kids or should we have her wait till the line is done?

Hi, Denise! I know that nothing about your question should be sad, but I had to pause before I answered it since tears filled my eyes.  You see, my mother-in-law who was called Nana by my children accompanied our family on her first trip to Walt Disney World (WDW).  She died a few years ago, but we still reminisce about how much fun she was on that trip.  We drug her on every thrill ride as she hooped and hollered, and we absolutely treasure the photos of her with practically every character in the park! She would sometimes wait for our children to have their turn with the characters, and then for some, she was so filled with emotion that she ran to them at first sight!

So, in answer to your question, you let your Nana wait in line right alongside all the other princesses and pirates. You'll definitely see children of all ages and stages of life patiently waiting their turn to have their picture made with Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, the Princesses or even grown-up heart-throb's like Captain Jack Sparrow! Everyone is a kid at WDW, and everyone is equally important.

As far as a character meal, my teens and our Nana loved Chef Mickey's at The Contemporary and fooling around with Lilo & Stitch at the Best Friends Breakfast at The Polynesian's 'Ohana. I think it's terrific that your teenagers want to show Nana a good time, and you all are poised to make precious memories that will last a lifetime. Come back if you need more "Nana advice!" Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation!
