Hi there, Melissa! Welcome back to planDisney. How exciting that you are planning a trip to Walt Disney World with your mother in a few short months! My family and I recently visited my mother, who was also in an Electronic Convenience Vehicle (ECV). Luckily, Walt Disney World is a very ECV-friendly place! While
Minnie Van service is not currently being offered, all complimentary Walt Disney World transportation methods, including
Disney Monorail,
Disney Skyliner, and
Disney Bus Service, accommodate ECVs.
When boarding an
attraction, your mother will mostly be able to join the queue in her ECV and may be asked to either re-route if necessary (in case of stairs or narrow passageways), or in some cases, transfer to a wheelchair. Here is a convenient list of the
Attraction Access Category of each major attraction within the Disney Parks. If she wishes to park her ECV, you can often find convenient parking not far from attraction entrances.
Melissa, did you know that ECV rentals are available at all four Disney Theme Parks? Walt Disney World is committed to making the Theme Parks accessible to all Guests, so I hope you can rest assured that your mother will have an incredible time! If you have more specific questions, feel free to contact the
Department of Disability Services with your questions or concerns. Of course, you are always welcome back here at planDisney, where it would be our pleasure to continue helping you make this trip as memorable and comfortable as possible!
See ya real soon!
