Hi, Sarah!
I happen to be a big fan of babywearing and have a lot of first-hand experience using various types of baby and toddler carriers at the
Disneyland Resort! I suggest you try a soft-structured baby carrier, which is a type of carrier that distributes the weight of your baby to your hips instead of your back. They are actually quite comfortable to wear for extended periods, even with children weighing up to 40 pounds or more! I suggest one with buckles, which will be easy to put on quickly. My favorite brands that manufacture this kind of baby carrier are Baby Tula and LÍLLÉbaby.
LÍLLÉbaby in particular has a model made of breathable mesh fabric to help keep you and baby cooler, plus it comes with a special lumbar support piece on the waist strap made of contoured foam to support your lower back. This carrier also allows your baby to face out safely while being worn. My daughter loves riding in it when there is lots going on around us, and it allows me to hold her during parades and while waiting for attractions without straining my back or arms! Most carriers come in many fun prints or solid colors to reflect your personal style.
The
Baby Care Centers are also helpful while exploring the parks with an infant. They provide full-size changing tables, high chairs, private nursing spaces and baby food prepping areas. You can find the Baby Care Center in Disneyland Park at the end of Main Street, U.S.A., next to First Aid. In Disney California Adventure Park, it’s located next to Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop in Pacific Wharf.
I hope this information helps, Sarah. Please ask me any other questions you have as you continue planning your visit to the Happiest Place on Earth!
Wishing you magic,
Courtney
