Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Layni! I took my baby girl to the parks in the fall and the spring last year, so I’ll share my top tips for keeping baby cool in the Walt Disney World Resort parks.
I bought one of those little clippy stroller fans, too; and they work! Just be sure to bring fresh batteries or pick some up in the gift shop of your
Resort Hotel. Another tip is to leave the canopy of your stroller DOWN when you are inside eating, viewing and attraction or the like. That little bit of shade will keep your stroller seat much cooler than if it were open. If you feel that you and baby need some cooling off yourself, try visiting the
Baby Care Centers in each of the 4 main theme parks. They boast full size changing tables with sanitary papers, rocking chairs, a nursing room, high chairs, a supply store, and a tv room with a couch for resting or having a chill-moment. I still use them with my grade schooler for a moment of quiet and cool.
Of course, if baby is asleep in the stroller, we like to wheel in and around in the large merchandise locations. My favorite is
Big-Top Souvenirs in Storybook Circus for it’s wide aisles, delicious smells and running A/C. Dress baby in layers like a short sleeve onesie, shorts and socks. You can alway remove a layer and let his toes out into the breeze, or cover up with a muslin blanket inside a store. I found that if baby will keep on a bucket hat, that helps with the sun, too! Let me know if you need some more tips, and have a fabulous vacation! ~ Lindsey P.
