    We are taking our 17 month old grandson to Disney World for the first time in July. He wears hearing aids in both ears. He does know some sign language. How can we help him get the most out of his visit. We are staying at Saratoga Springs.

    Thanks so much for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I'm so excited for your grandson's first trip to Walt Disney World Resort! Mickey will be excited to meet him in just a couple weeks! Disney is our absolute favorite vacation destination! My son has many medical, physical and developmental special needs, so I understand how important it is to plan ahead. I can't express how wonderful a job Walt Disney World Resort does working with us to accommodate his needs, allowing him to have the most magical vacation every time!

    There are many Services for Guests with Hearing Disabilities! Assistive Listening equipment such as Disney's Handheld Devices as well as Handheld Captioning Devices can be found at Guest Relations at all four theme parks on a first-come, first-served basis. That's amazing that your little grandson already knows some sign language! What a smart Mouseketeer! Sign language interpretation is available at specific live shows throughout all four theme parks on a rotational weekly schedule. Schedules will be posted about a week in advance, so I suggest checking the times before arriving on your vacation to help plan your itinerary.

    I also recommend emailing WDPRsignlanguageservices@disney.com to see if they have any additional ideas on how to make your grandson's first trip to Walt Disney World Resort unforgettable. Oh, one more thing! Be sure to get him a personalized Mickey Mouse Ear Hat to commemorate this incredible vacation!
