Hello: I will be taking my 27 month old to DW for the first time this March for three days. We have never travelled by airplane before. I want to make sure I am prepared, so what do you recommend I bring/pack/carry with us during our flight and outings?

    Hi David!

How very smart of you to plan ahead!  Airplane travel can be intimating for the first time, but in most cases, if you're well prepared, will turn out even better than you think!

The wiggly 27 month olds can be a challenge.  I remember that stage very well!  For our kids, we always sat them down and showed pictures and talked about the airplane and flight beforehand, as well as expected behaviors are for the flight.  We always made sure to take extra time to talk about how we need to stay seated with our seat belts on.  If your little one is potty trained, expect to take several trips to the potty on the plane, as they are pretty fascinating places!

Also, make sure you check out some advice I've given to Leslie, another guest, about plane travel and outings with little ones around Walt Disney World.

Be prepared, breathe, and smile!  It'll be a wonderful adventure!

    Have a magical vacation!
