I am taking my mom to WDW, her first time, 60th birthday December! 11 year old, fiancé, parents, 2 brothers, me. On a budget but want to stay on property. Accommodations/family rooms? Meal plan or no? Hopper vs tickets for 3 parks? Thanks!

    Hi Vi,

There are many fantastic ways to celebrate your mom's first visit, and very special birthday, at the Walt Disney World Resort. Please take a look at this outstanding Moms Views answer. It provides some excellent recommendations on how to celebrate mom's birthday, Disney-style!

The Walt Disney World Resort offers accommodations with sleeping arrangements for groups of 5 Guests or More. Since you are traveling on a budget, I suggest reserving 2 Standard Rooms at a Disney Value Resort hotel. This arrangement will accommodate up to 8 Guests, and is usually a more affordable option than booking one of the Deluxe Villas.

The above being said, I also recommend doing a bit of price comparison between the two options. Do spend some time researching the Special Offers page. You just might find one package that proves to be "a perfect fit" for your family's vacation budget. I would definitely add one of the Disney Dining Plans too. Read about this option HERE.

Base Tickets will grant your entire travel party access to exactly one Disney theme park for each day of admission entitlements. Generally, I would recommend purchasing this type of ticket unless you are traveling during a busier time of the year. Read more about this topic HERE.

Wishing you an unforgettable visit to the place where The Magic is Endless!
