Hi! Taking my mom w/ family to DISNEY! She hasn't been in 30yrs! My mom has MS. She won't be going on rides but she will be in a wheelchair. Could you tell me what I will need for someone with a disability while in the parks? Also booking res. to eat.:)

    Hello Wendi!

What an amazing trip you have planned for your Mom and family!  She is sure to love every minute of it and be amazed at how Walt's dream has continued to grow throughout the years.  I bet you are so excited!

When planning trips to Walt Disney World for people who have special needs or disabilities I recommend reading through the following links prior to visiting:

Since persons with MS can be heat sensitive, plan on keeping as cool as possible.  I would suggest keeping cold beverages going, using special cooling towels/headbands (like Frog Toggs, etc..), and take advantage of the air conditioned attractions.

When booking dining reservations, you shouldn't have any worries since all restaurants are handicapped accessible and wheelchairs and ECV's enter easily.  You may wish to call the Disney Dining Reservations Phone Number so that it can be noted on your reservation that you need a table that accommodates a wheelchair.

    Wishing you a Magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Brenda, Missouri

I fell in love with Walt Disney World on my very first visit, which took place during my honeymoon. Since then we have added 4 "mouseketeers" to our family and have come to appreciate what a great value a Walt Disney World vacation can be on a budget. As a Physical Therapist and a mom of a large family, I would love to help you plan your next magical trip! Learn More About Brenda
