Taking mom (80) to Disney World, for her first time. Thinking to go to Disney Springs the first afternoon or evening. What low key things are there to do with her. Walking may or may not be an issue.

    Hi Donna,

Thank you so much for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. Taking your mom to Disney Springs sounds like a lovely way to spend your first day at Walt Disney World. Let me offer you some ideas of fun, low-key things to do.

You mention that walking may or may not be a problem. If walking seems to be okay on that day, perhaps you can check out some of the shopping at Disney Springs. There are so many amazing stores at Disney Springs. One of my favorite places to shop is the Marketplace Co-Op. This location has many small, unique shops all attached to each other, so it would be a good place to explore many different types of merchandise without too much walking.

I would absolutely recommend a meal at one of the restaurants at Disney Springs. A couple of my favorites are Chef Art Smith's Homecomin' for down-home food with a Florida flare, and The Boathouse for upscale delicious dining.

After dinner, you could treat your mother to a ride in an Amphicar at The Boathouse! This is definitely a unique experience. I also enjoy an after-dinner drink at Jock Lindsey's Hangar Bar. If you can get a seat outside, you can often take in entertainment from the nearby stage.

I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you, Donna! Please do let us know if you have any further questions.
