Hello we are taking are little guy for the first time to Disney to celebrate his 5th birthday. I was wondering what all benefit should I be looking for to help make this an extra special day? Thank you , we are visiting Nov. 3,4 and 5.

    Hi Nicole,

There is so much that you can do to make a birthday celebration special at Walt Disney World. Be sure to get your little guy a birthday button, available free of charge at Guest Relations at any Walt Disney World theme park. It is so much fun to hear cast members and other guests wish your little one a happy birthday. Also, be sure to note on any resort or dining reservations that you make that it is his birthday, and be sure to let the host or hostess know. By having him wear a birthday button and noting his birthday on reservations, you may find that cast members are able to make magical moments for him. When we celebrated my daughter's 7th birthday at Magic Kingdom, she wore the birthday button and received a cupcake piled high with frosting and sprinkles without us even asking after our lunch at The Plaza Restaurant! Please do know that magical moments are not guaranteed, so do not expect them, and they will be even more magical if they do occur.

There are some additional ideas with a cost associated that you can to do make his birthday special. You can visit Disney Floral and Gifts to create an amazing gift or in-room celebration for him. Once you have browsed the site online, I suggest that you call them at 407-WDW-GIFT (407-939-4438) to work with a Dream Maker to customize your surprise. You can also call the Disney Cake Hotline at (407) 827-2253 and work with a representative there to customize a cake for your little guy. By working with both of these for our daughter's 7th birthday, we had a chocolate cake in the shape of Minnie Mouse's head, along with a plush animal of Minnie Mouse holding balloons delivered to our villa at Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort. It was a great surprise!

Have a wonderful time planning your little one's birthday, Nicole, and please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions!
