Your Sea and Land vacation is the best kind of vacation, Krista -- sounds awesome!
Your family will have a blast onboard the majestic
Disney Dream as you sail through the Bahamas next June. The weather will be nice and warm and your family will be pampered and spoiled out on the high seas!
Disembarkation day is still a day to enjoy... so, try not to rush through it. The magic continues for you and your family, so you should definitely enjoy every bit of it. The ship will usually arrive Port Canaveral at around 7:30am. Depending on when your dining schedule is, you will either eat early (at around 6am) or you'll eat late (around 8am). Once you finish your last sit-down breakfast onboard, you can say your goodbye's and bid your wonderful dining team farewell (or See Ya Later!). Tears will be optional as you find yourself walking towards the exit...
Allow some time to exit the gangway, since there might be a line of people leaving. Everyone will make their way towards baggage claim and then through US Customs. If you go with the crowds, you can expect to be in line for 30 minutes or longer usually. If you booked your ground transfer from the Port to your Disney Resort through Disney Cruise Line, then you'll board the next motor coach right outside the exit. The busses might need to wait for more guests, but we've never waited longer than 25 minutes on a bus. It will take about an hour to get to the resort, depending on traffic. Your bus might also be taking 1 or 2 additional stops at nearby Disney resorts.
My family tends to exit the ship later, since we eat late and somehow move slow motion on the last day of the cruise (or we just really don't want to go!). We're usually at our Disney resort before noon. You might arrive earlier if you leave the ship earlier.
I hope this helps, Krista!
Have a great vacation,
~ Dolly
