Hi! Taking kids to WDW last week of this year. We have a 3 year old and a 6 year old, both boys. Where would you recommend that we go for a character meal, that doesn't include princess? Some where that we will get the most bang for our buck?

    Hi Cheryl,

Welcome to the Moms Panel, this is a great question!  One of our favorite character dining experiences is Chef Mickey's at Disney's Contemporary Resort.  This buffet includes appearances by Mickey and his pals, which is surely a hit with children young and old.  One of the things I like best about this dining location is the ability to watch the Monorail pass through the resort every few minutes.  This is one of the highlights for my son, it simply amazes him!

Another favorite for my children is T-Rex at Downtown Disney.  Although not a character experience, it's an amazing, interactive dining location.  This restaurant is incredibly themed with life size dinosaurs throughout and a meteor shower adds a little excitement during mealtime.  The menu is quite large, and there is more room to split and share entrees, or choose less expensive options unlike a a buffet where everyone pays a flat rate.

    Hope this helps!
