Taking kids and grandkids and will stay in DVC Baylake Towers 3BR Villa with stairs - have two a 4YR, a3YR, a 1.5YR and twins that are 1YR (what were we thinking?) - how do we deal with the stairs - should we bring baby gates? Help!

Welcome Home, Melvin! It's great that you've decided to be our planDisney guest once again, and I'm happy to help with your vacation planning question. We Disney Vacation Club Members have to stick together, after all!

Melvin, I appreciate you thinking ahead to keep your youngest Mouseketeers safe! Often the 3-Bedroom Grand Villas already have a baby gate in the closet because of the stairs, but I definitely recommend contacting Member Services so they can note this request in your reservation. You can also request bed rails, and the Villa should have a portable crib for your family's use.

You are in for a true adventure with your family when you visit Walt Disney World Resort in June--I imagine there is going to be a little bit of chaos, and a LOT of fun with your family.  Staying at Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort is an excellent choice. Based on the ages of your sweet grandbabies, I'm imagining you'll be spending some quality time at Magic Kingdom Park, and the walking path from Bay Lake Tower is a game-changer when you're traveling with little ones. If someone needs a midday nap or a swim, it's a quick walk back to your Villa, and the kids can stay in their strollers!  The Magic Kingdom and the other three theme parks also feature well-equipped Baby Care Centers, which come in handy if someone needs a diaper change, a quiet place to nurse, or even some new Disney attire!

From Bay Lake Tower, you can also walk over to the main building at the Contemporary to enjoy breakfast or dinner at Chef Mickey's. This was always a favorite of my girls when they were younger--it is an iconic Disney experience to enjoy a meal while the Monorail glides through the hotel! This is also your grandkids' chance to meet Mickey Mouse and pals and get some fun photos with the gang. Your window to book dining reservations will open around 6:00 AM 60 days before your check-in, so make sure you have your My Disney Experience account set up and ready to go.

I hope you have a magical multigenerational adventure with your family, Melvin! Thanks so much for visiting our planDisney family once again, and please reach out anytime if we can help with any other vacation planning questions.

    Stay Magical!
