We are taking the kids for the first time to Disney from 6/17 to 6/24. :) We are staying at the B Resort and Spa and I was wondering if we can use the early park hours. Also, will fireworks and character greeting be available during that time?

    Hi Erika!

Welcome to planDisney! First time visits are some of the most special, and what a treat for the kids after a year of so many challenges.

Traditionally, Guests staying at the B Resort & Spa were able to participate in Extra Magic Hours. However, Extra Magic Hours will not be returning to the Walt Disney World Resort in the way Guests are used to. Disney has announced that in the future, the theme parks will be opening 30 minutes earlier for resort guests, but we don’t have many details on this new perk, as it isn’t planned to start until at least this fall.

I would recommend you take a few minutes to read about some of the current safety changes that have been made in the parks, as it’s always best to know before you go! While traditional afternoon parades, fireworks spectaculars, and character meet-and-greets are on pause, there are still some fun ways to see your favorite Disney friends. Keep your eyes open for unscheduled appearances where you may have the opportunity to see characters from afar for a wave or a selfie. There are also cavalcades of characters that drive down Main Street, U.S.A. for a wave and a smile.

There are a few select locations that offer character dining if you want a guaranteed way to see some characters. Again, while they cannot come directly to your table, they do pose for a great selfie! See Mickey at The Garden Grill at Epcot, Chef Mickey’s, or Topolino’s Terrace for breakfast. Or visit favorite Disney Junior Characters at Hollywood & Vine.

Erika, I do want to be sure that you have made your Park Pass Reservations for your trip. Guests need both a paid Theme Park Ticket and a complementary Park Pass Reservation to enter a theme park, and these Park Pass Reservations are filling quickly. If you don’t already have your reservations, you should make them today, as dates in June are already beginning to book up.

If you have any additional questions before your visit, please let me know. I love talking Disney and am here to help!
