Taking our 2 kids Disney for first time in Sept. I'm needing ideas on how to make this trip extra special. We are doing Bibbidi Bobbidy and the Pirates League, I also read something about a Mickey's welcome call. Any ideas that aren't expensive?

    Hi Jenna,
Going to Walt Disney World for the first time is really special, and your kids will love it!  I think think your ideas for the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and  the Pirates League are fantastic ones.  I just visited the Pirates League, and both of your kids will have a great time being transformed into Pirates for the day.  I would recommend advanced reservations for them both as you can make them up to 180 days prior to your vacation.  When you check in, you can ask about the Mickey's Welcome Call and how to obtain one in your room!  Also when you go to any of the theme parks, go to Guest Relations and ask for a "1st Visit" button.  Another inexpensive way to make your trip fun is to collect Pressed Pennies.  These machines are located throughout the park.  The website www.allears.net has a complete listing of where the Pressed Pennies and Quarters are located; once you are at the website, search for pressed pennies.  You can also buy a book to put them in.  The Pressed Pennies cost 51 cents and the Pressed Quarters are $1.25.
There are character greetings throughout all the theme parks.  You can have autographs and photos with the characters and put them in a scrapbook when you get home or buy books at home or at Walt Disney World as well.
You can also order maps of the theme parks and have your children circle there favorites or do this once you check into your resort.  We bring high lighters to make this easier and this way you can be sure to get everyone's favorite attractions.    I have so much more to tell you, but have run out of room.  Please send me a follow up question, Jenna.  Have a magical vacation!
