Taking kids to Disney for first time....ages 15,9,7,2......should we just stick to magic kingdom and animal kingdom??? Wasnt sure if the other parks would be above the littles ones heads so to speak.

    Hi Kristi:

I have two boys, ages 8 and 6, who have been traveling to Walt Disney World since they were infants.  While their tastes have changed over the years, they have always managed to enjoy every Park on every trip.  Every family is different and has different tastes.  For my family, if they had to pick a Park to skip, it would be Animal Kingdom because they find that Park to be the least "fun" of the four Theme Parks.  However, if your children love animals, you should hit that Park.

Epcot has a reputation it can't shake that it's more cerebral.  My family doesn't agree with that characterization.  At Epcot, my boys love Soarin' and Test Track (your 2 year old would be too short for the height requirement) and the whole family enjoys Spaceship Earth and Agent Perry's World Showcase Adventure.  At Hollywood Studios, my family loves Toy Story Mania and Star Tours.

I'm not sure how many days you plan to spend at the Parks.  But I would definitely keep Magic Kingdom on your list. I would also visit Animal Kingdom if you feel your family really loves animals.  If you have an extra day, you could consider a second day at Magic Kingdom since the Park is so expansive.  Or if you feel you've "seen" Magic Kingdom after one day, you could take a shot at Epcot or Hollywood Studios.

    Enjoy your vacation.
