We will be taking our kids ages 17, 14, 10 & 6 to WDW. This is the first time we we won't be traveling with a pre-schooler. Do you think we need to take a stroller for our 6 year old? I dont want to have to rent one so we need to decide before we go.

    Hi Nancy,

Every child is different, but from my own experience a 6 year old can make it through the parks without a stroller.  In fact, your littlest one will probably have more energy than the rest of you.

I know that once children are old enough to forgo nap time, it's tempting to stay in the parks from open to close.  I still recommend taking time out in the middle of the day to swim or just put your feet up -- especially with your little one.  You'll all enjoy yourselves more if you have fresh legs to help get you through the late night.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
