We are taking our grandson for his first visit to Disney on Dec. 6 - 10. We are wondering if the hours of MVMCP are too late for a 3-1/2 year old. He is usually in bed at 9 p.m. Is the cost worth the 1 or 2 hours we may have before he gets too tired?

Hi Linda!  I will be bringing my 3 1/2 year old grandson as well to the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party in December!  He has been to this party last year as well as the last two Halloween parties.  I suggest you make sure he gets a restful nap that afternoon.  Try to arrange for a dinner reservation in the park so that you finish right about 7:00pm.  You can enjoy some rides and attractions before the parade and the fireworks but make sure you do secure a good spot for the parade. Last year we didn't and we were sorry as the kids just love the Christmas parade and it is fabulous!  I feel the price of the ticket alone is worth seeing the holiday parade and fireworks as well as some of the other great entertainment that will be taking place in the park.

Also check out the Fantasyland area behind the carrousel. My grandson loves the music and dancing during the special event parties and sometimes we have to literally drag him away to enjoy other things.

I also suggest you do not plan an early morning for the next day.  Let him stay up late and crash on the way back to the resort and sleep late the next morning.  I think it is well worth the money and the experience and there is nothing like being on Main Street of the Magic Kingdom with holiday songs playing and the snow falling!
