We will be taking our grandson to Disney in November 8-11 would the Gingerbread house be up in the Grand Floridian? Also, what other resorts have decoration during my dates that you recommend I take him( he is 4)

    Hi Virginia, welcome to planDisney!

The Disney Parks Blog recently gave us a Behind-the-Scenes Look at Preparing for the 2023 Walt Disney World Holidays.  It is fascinating to learn all the work it takes to make the incredible gingerbread displays!  Unfortunately, Disney did not announce a date on when the gingerbread house will open at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.  However, I can tell you that it opened on December 9, 2022, last year so your vacation lines up with that date nicely.  Please keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog as I'm sure more news will be forthcoming.  The good news is, even if the gingerbread house is not officially open, it is so much fun to watch the cast members build it!

All Disney Resort Hotels will begin decorating for the holidays right after Halloween.  I always allot extra time so I can visit as many resorts as possible during the holidays.  In addition to Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, I would suggest hopping on the monorail and stopping at Disney’s Contemporary Resort.  If you have time, from there I would take a water taxi to Disney's Wilderness Lodge. Although there is not a gingerbread display, I enjoy relaxing in the lobby for a few moments in front of the large Christmas tree.

In the area of Disney's BoardWalk, Disney’s Beach Club Resort is a must-visit to see the gingerbread carousel.  Disney’s Yacht Club Resort will have a new display this year that I'm looking forward to seeing.  You may want to stop by there since it is located next to Disney's Beach Club Resort.  Disney’s BoardWalk Resort also has a gingerbread display.

My final must-visit is Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge.  Last year they had a gingerbread giraffe, Ginger-affe, and Debra the Zebra.  I can't wait to see what is in store for us this year!

Virginia, I think you are going to have a wonderful time with your grandson.  It truly is the most magical time of the year at Walt Disney World!
    Diane
