Welcome to planDisney, Randy!
Thanks for stopping by with this question. There is nothing more special than spending your birthday at Walt Disney World. Except perhaps spending that birthday getting a royal transformation at
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique! You are crafting a birthday that your granddaughter will never forget.
Now let’s talk park tickets.
Young Mouseketeers under three are considered guests of Mickey Mouse and do not require theme park tickets. However, once they cross that magical threshold from the age of 2 to the age of 3, they do require tickets to enter the theme parks, even if you are on vacation during that birthday. Randy, there is one exception - if you purchased a vacation package which includes theme park tickets and your stay at one of Disney’s amazing
resort hotels, your granddaughter will remain the same age she is at check-in within Disney’s system throughout your stay. Now, if you purchased tickets and hotel separately, your granddaughter will need a kids’ ticket starting on her 3rd birthday.
While we’re talking birthdays, remember to pick up a complimentary birthday Celebration Button at the beginning of your stay - you can either find them at your Disney resort’s front desk or any
Guest Relations location in any of the theme parks or Disney Springs. They’re a great way to let the world know that there’s a birthday to celebrate. Also give some thought to booking table service dinner reservations to celebrate her special day -
character dining will make it extra special. You can even add a
Celebration Cake at participating restaurants.
I hope this information is helpful, Randy. I’m wishing your granddaughter a very happy birthday and hoping that you and your family enjoy celebrating her at The Most Magical Place on Earth. TTFN.. ta-ta for now!
