I am taking my granddaughter & her mom to Disney World in a couple of weeks and need to know if there are any rides for a person who is very much overweight? Also do you have to have a dining plan to make reservations at the character dining venues?

Hello Helen!  Welcome to the Moms Panel.  You all must be very excited about your 3 generations trip to Walt Disney World - what special memories you will make!  I am happy to report that Walt Disney World is a very friendly place for people of all shapes and sizes.  I have read many different reports from guests  who consider themselves to be "fluffy" and had no problems with seat belts, turnstiles, etc.  I have found a very informative article at one of my favourite websites, Allears.Net - just search for their web page titled Walt Disney World At Large.  I think this information will really help to ease your mind and give you some valuable tips.

You do not need to be using a Disney Dining Plan to make advance reservations at any of the Walt Disney World restaurants.  You can go online to Disney Dining Reservations to check availability and make all of the advance reservations for your vacation.  I would strongly suggest making advance reservations for any Table Service meals, including character meals!

Thanks again for your questions Helen.  I wish you and your family a very wonderful Walt Disney World vacation and please don't hesitate to ask me if you have any more questions before your trip. Have a magical day!
