    I am taking my grandchildren (13 & 15) to Disneyworld in October. Is the Halloween Party worth it? ($64 per...yikes!) Will MK be closed off to non-partiers? Thanks

    Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel Christine!

    Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party (MNSSHP) is my favorite special event at the Magic Kingdom (MK)! I absolutely love seeing the MK all decked out in cool Halloween decorations. I personally think its worth the money & its a must do for me each year.

    Its a special ticketed event so the MK isn't as crowded which shortens lines & makes it easier to maneuver the park. But I make my main focus the special events available only during MNSSHP. Everyone (including adults) is encouraged but not required to dress up. You'll be boarding rides so keep that in mind when selecting costumes & wear comfortable shoes.

    Here are some highlights that take place only during MNSSHP:

    * Trick-or-Treat locations throughout the park (they will be shown on the Guide Map)
    * Special Character Meet & Greets (often unique ones only seen during special events)
    * Mickey's "Boo-to-You" Halloween Parade - the Headless Horseman and the Grave Diggers make this parade worth the price of admission (its easier to get a good spot for the 2nd parade)
    * Happy HalloWishes fireworks
    * Villains' Dance Mix & Mingle

    There are also character dance parties. Not every attraction is open during MNSSHP but the most popular ones will be (check the special MNSSHP Guide Map for a complete list).

    MNSSHP does require a separate special event ticket to attend. On the evenings that it is held, MK closes early and only those Guests with the special event tickets are allowed to enter or remain in the park when MNSSHP begins at 7 p.m. If you've never been to MNSSHP, you'll love this spooktacular event!
