We are taking our only grandchild (Alex...4 yrs. old) his first visit to Walt Disney World. We are also on a budget...any suggestions for keeping cost down, while still making this a fun, memorable trip for our Grandson's first visit to Disney World?

    Hi, Bryan!

Your grandson's first trip to Walt Disney World will be such a fantastic experience for all you! How exciting!

To get the most out of your vacation budget, look at Disney's Value Resorts. These are gorgeously-themed, budget-minded resorts that include all of the magic for which Disney is known. By staying in a Disney Resort, you're entitled to complimentary round-trip transportation, via Disney's Magical Express motor coaches, to Orlando International Airport, which means you'll start saving $ right away!

Consider adding on a Dining Plan if you plan to eat in the parks or at your resort, too. These plans will save you money if you know you'll be eating a meal or two per day in a park or resort restaurant. You can bring in your own food and beverages, or enjoy them back at your resort, too. Some of the Value Resorts mentioned above offer Family Suites, which are a little more expensive than a studio, but they include mini-kitchens (mini-refrigerator, toaster, microwave and coffee maker), a great way to enjoy light meals in-room. You can ship non-perishables to your resort prior to your stay, too!

With planning, you can see most of what you want without adding on the Water Parks and More Fun option to your Park Tickets, as well as avoiding the Park Hopper Option as well. Finally, pick a season which is off-peak. Not only will your resort reservation be less expensive, but you'll be able to enjoy more of the attractions in less time, since lines will be much lighter.

Go onto WDW's website and get a quote on a particular stay; then change the specifics such as resort, length of stay and date to see where you can save money. Send more questions as you research your options, too. I'd love to help!
