    Taking my 90 yo gpts for a day at the MK and need the smoothest way to get from the MK to WCC restaurant . I know the boat goes there but how often does it run our res is for 5pm . Thanks

    Hi Dawn,

    Good for you!  I'm so glad you're including your grandparents in your Disney fun.  I can't wait for them to see Disney's Wilderness Lodge.  It is a truly spectacular resort that also happens to be my favorite at Walt Disney World.

    You have two transportation options to get from the Magic Kingdom to Whispering Canyon Cafe in the lobby of Disney's Wilderness Lodge.  The shortest route is to take a complimentary Disney bus.  These buses are fast!  I've taken the bus and timed it.  It took only four minutes to get from the bus stop at the Magic Kingdom to the front of Disney's Wilderness Lodge.  If you're looking for a time-efficient route, this is it!

    Personally, I prefer the boat ride from the dock in front of the Magic Kingdom to Disney's Wilderness Lodge.  These boats pick up guests every 20-30 minutes and they will be running before your 5 pm reservation.  If you opt for this plan, I'd plan on being at the dock by 4 pm.  Although this route takes longer, the ride across the Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake is well worth it.  You'll dock at the back of Disney's Wilderness Lodge and that gives you all the opportunity to see the gorgeous back of the resort on your way to Whispering Canyon Cafe.  You may even catch Fire Rock Geyser erupt if you happen to be there on the hour.

    So, the bus ride is shorter and requires fewer steps but the boat ride is more beautiful and allows you to explore more of the resort on your way to dinner.  Knowing that information, I'm sure you'll pick the route that's best for you and your grandparents.
