Hi Erica,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you for your question. How wonderful that your son will now be able to join you on your magical vacation!
The Little Mermaid rooms at
Disney’s Art of Animation Resort sleep a maximum of four, so now that your son is joining you, you will need to look at other options. Honestly, with an 8, 9, and 16 year old, you are going to want that extra space anyway. Family suites at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort accommodate six Guests, with a queen bed in the separate bedroom, a pull-down double bed, and a double sleeper sofa. You’ll have more space to hang out, and a second bathroom, which is a really great feature with more than four occupants in a room. The suites also feature kitchenettes, which are handy for preparing breakfast in the mornings, or microwaving popcorn or leftovers. If your daughters are really excited about the Little Mermaid theming, you will absolutely be able to use the Flippin’ Fins Pool and wander the Little Mermaid area of the resort. It really is a wonderfully themed place to stay.
Erica, there are several options at Walt Disney World Resort that sleep five in various configurations. I recommend calling Walt Disney World Resort Reservations at (407) 939-1936 to discuss what rooms are available to fit your needs. Several of the Deluxe Resorts feature a sleeper sofa to accommodate extra people, or you could consider the family suites at Disney’s All-Star Music Resort or one-bedroom villa options. On Walt Disney World's
resort webpage, you can sort by the number of guests and see the various options.
Enjoy your magical family time together at Walt Disney World!
