Taking our 3 girls (2,4,6) to WDW for the 1st time, staying at PO Riverside. We arrive 9/25, flight lands 5:45pm. Want to see fireworks at MK but don't plan to go to MNSSHP. Heard Polynesian is a good place to see them, need ideas for a plan for that night

    Hello, Julie,

Watching the fireworks from the beach at the Polynesian Resort is one of my favorite things to do at WDW.  When my children were younger, I loved that there weren't crowds around them so they had a lot more physical freedom (great after a long plane ride!).

After you arrive at your resort and have checked-in, I'd go ahead and take the Magic Kingdom bus from your resort.  Once there, you can take the monorail or the water taxi over to the Polynesian Resort. Both of these are located in front of the Magic Kingdom entrance.  If you can't locate them, just ask any cast member who can point you in the right direction.

I believe the fireworks will be at 9:00 pm on 9/25/12, but I'd double check upon your arrival at your resort when you check in. Once at the resort, you can grab dinner at Captain's Cook and then wander down to the beach to let your daughters have fun.  If you feel that you may not have enough time, you can take the food to go and eat down by the beach (there are porch swings and chaises to sit on).  Once the fireworks are finished, don't rush off.  The Electrical Water Pageant (a light parade on the water) happens after the 9:00 fireworks.

To return to your resort, you'll want to return to the Magic Kingdom (monorail or water taxi) and then transfer to a Port Orleans Riverside bus.

Have a great trip!  Please let us know if we can help again.
