i will be taking my 2 girls (16 & 7) just for the day to Disney.Where do i start or hit first and foremost? what kind of shoes are best if we doing it all and water parks too? (if possible) they have no idea i am planning a day trip so please HELP.

    Hi Adrienne!

Walt Disney World Resort is enormous with 4 theme parks, 2 water parks, and a downtown shopping and entertainment district.  If you are going for just a day, I recommend just going to one theme park.  You will be doing a lot of walking wherever you go, so be sure to wear good comfortable shoes!

The Magic Kingdom is the crown jewel of the Walt Disney World Resort.  If you've never been before, then I definitely recommend just going to this park.  It's the favorite theme park of many guests, including mine.  There are attractions and activities suitable for both older and younger children, and adults!  You can easily spend several days there, so there's definitely enough attractions and shows to fill up an entire day!  Also, most attractions have been designed for the entire family to enjoy together.

If it is your first visit, then I also recommend purchasing the book "The Complete Walt Disney World" by Julie and Mike Neal.  It's a perfect book for first time visitors, because it has just the right amount of information without being overwhelming.  Also, it is a beautiful book full of lots of color photographs.  It will definitely give you a good feel for what there is to do at the world's number one vacation destination!

Enjoy planning your magical day and write back if you have any more questions!
