We are taking a friend of ours who has never been to WDW before, he is 25. We want him to experience a classic character meal. We are hoping to get into chef mickey's for dinner. If we are unable to get an ADR what other meal would you suggest? Thanks!

If you're looking to experience a classic character meal, you're making the right choice with Chef Mickey.  If those reservations prove impossible to obtain though, I'd recommend trying for Garden Grill at Epcot.  Not only can you find Mickey, Pluto, Chip and Dale there, but the food is very tasty as well.  Much of it is even harvested from within Epcot, right there at the Living with the Land boat ride.  The restaurant itself is also very unique in that it rotates as your meal progresses, giving your party a peek into the Living with The Land attraction.  While this character meal is not as lively as Chef Mickey (due to the lack of napkin twirling and loud music) my family thoroughly enjoyed a meal there in September, so much so that we've added Garden Grill to our must-return-next-time list!  Hopefully it will fit the bill of what you're looking for as well!

Given your inclination to plan a magical trip, I can already tell we have a lot in common. I'm Darcie, and my friends would be the first to tell you that Disney trip planning (especially dining!) is my love language. Of course, the vacations my family enjoys today look much different than they did when our kids were little, but while some of our favorite activities have evolved, Disney destinations still top our travel wish lists. Let's work together to plan a downright dreamy vacation for your family! Learn More About Darcie
