We are taking our first WDW trip March 27-29. My mom and I are traveling with my kids 8 months, 5 & 11. We're staying at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort. It's a SURPRISE for my kids, all suggestions and tips are greatly appreciated. I'm excited!!!

Your first WDW trip will be memorable. With a little advanced planning, you can be prepared to have a magical, stress-free vacation too.

First, I just want you to know that the main pool at the Caribbean Beach Resort (CBR) is closed for refurbishment during your stay. While temporary slides have been set up at the quiet pools, the temporary “fencing” around a pool rehab can detract from a resort’s beauty. If this will be too much of a disappointment, please do not hesitate to consider switching your reservation to another resort. I just want your first Walt Disney World trip to be everything that you dream it to be. CBR is a beautiful resort, however.

Next, get to the parks early. You’ll really benefit from touring in the mornings. Take mid-day breaks back at your hotel to relax in your room or by the pool.

Crowds will be very heavy so make the most of your mornings. You’ll benefit from the parks being open longer to accommodate the higher crowds. The Magic Kingdom will be opening at 8 a.m. so you will be able to avoid the long mid-day lines by being in line before the park opens. Take a break during the day and then finish your touring in the early evening.

I absolutely love to hear about first trips to WDW. I hope yours is magical!
