We will be taking our first trip to WDW with our 4 year old 2/2010. We will be staying 7 days at the Fort Wilderness Cabins. What do you think our best option would be for park tickets? Should we plan to be in the parks everyday?

    Hi Michelle,

Thanks for writing!  The Cabins at Fort Wilderness Resort are a fabulous, family-friendly option for groups who would like a little extra space and some home-like conveniences such as a full kitchen and separate master bedroom.   Each cabin also comes with its own private deck and barbecue.

"The Fort" is truly a vacation destination in its own right.  There are so many fabulous activities (horseback riding, fishing, buggy rides, dinner shows, etc), that you almost don't need to leave the property!  The main pool has just been refurbished and re-themed, and looks fantastic!  With a seven day trip, I think you can easily plan on spending at least one full day enjoying the resort.  I'm betting your little guy will love the nightly campfire and sing-along hosted by Chip n' Dale and Mickey's Backyard BBQ.  The Electric Water Pageant can be seen from the beach of the resort, and is a lovely way to end a day.

Deciding on the days for your park tickets is largely a matter of preference.  With little ones, I've found that it's easier to go to the parks for shorter periods of time and return to your resort for breaks mid-day, rather than scheduling fewer, jam-packed, marathon days.  Magic Your Way Tickets are priced in such a way that cost per day decreases as the number of days you purchase increases.  Therefore, you might consider purchasing tickets for six or seven days of your trip, and  plan to return to the Fort for naps, meals and to take advantage of some of the activities I described.

    Have a wonderful trip!
